The NOW S knife series is the ideal choice for anyone who loves new recipes and trendy dishes and wants to use knives that not only cut well, but also look good. With their modern dynamic design and the tone-on-tone color concept - designed by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez - they inspire trend-savvy as well as quality-conscious people. Thanks to special stainless steel, ice-hardened FRIODUR blades and non-slip plastic handles, the workmanship is also convincing.
The magic of dark foods - the design of the black version of ZWILLLING's NOW S series is inspired by dark berries, dark chocolate and black olives. The series was designed by the Milanese design team Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez. The 7-piece knife block has been kept in the modern tone-on-tone concept of the entire series and is equipped with kitchen knives for many different cutting tasks in everyday cooking. The colour-coordinated knife block is equipped with a paring and garnishing knife, a chef's knife, a universal knife and a bread knife. In addition to the knife set with ergonomic plastic handles, there is also a sharpening steel and kitchen scissors that match the series.
In addition to the set of knives with ergonomic plastic handles, the wooden knife block also includes a sharpening steel and a pair of scissors.

All knives are made of special stainless steel in Solingen and are particularly corrosion-resistant thanks to the ice-hardened FRIODUR blades.

How to clean and care for knives.
ZWILLING is one of the best-known knife brands in the world and has stood for the highest quality cutlery for almost 300 years. With the right care, our knives often last a lifetime. So that this happens to you, here are some important care instructions:
The most important care instruction concerns the cleaning of your knife: In order to prevent premature wear and tear due to aggressive cleaning agents, we recommend cleaning by hand with lukewarm water, a mild washing-up liquid and a scratch-free dishcloth or sponge. Knives made from special melted steel are dishwasher-safe. However, the washing temperature should not exceed 55 °C.
Dishwasher yes or no?
It is advisable to store knives separately in the machine to avoid hitting other objects during the wash cycle. Dishwasher detergents often contain harsh cleaning chemicals that can damage the surface of plastic and steel. Hence our warning: Cleaning in the dishwasher can shorten the service life and edge retention.
Knife in the dishwasher? There lies the problem:
Less dishwasher, more from the knife
You see, the facts - even for knives that are labeled dishwasher safe - tend to speak against machine cleaning unless you have a dedicated industrial dishwasher in your kitchen. Aggressive chemicals, high temperatures, physical contact with other objects in the standard household dishwasher and often washing for hours - such circumstances are not conducive to the life of your knife.
Therefore, you should clean your knives by hand, it is much faster and still effective. Hot water, a sponge or a dish brush and a simple dishcloth or microfiber cloth for drying are sufficient for most normal soiling in everyday kitchen life. Knife care is done.

Tip: Storage is also part of care!
And after rinsing? Even then you can still make a not unimportant contribution to making your knife last longer. It's happiest when it has a good spot of its own, not in a collection compartment in the cutlery drawer, along with scissors, salad servers, and other knives. A knife block is best for careful, gentle knife storage. But drawer compartments or protective covers are also beneficial for careful knife storage.

Knives with wooden handles, such as our Japanese knives, are completely unsuitable for cleaning in the dishwasher and should only be cleaned by hand. So that the wood does not become brittle and dry, we recommend regular treatment with oil (e.g. linseed oil) or wax (e.g. beeswax) for knife care. This gives the wood an effective protective film as well as a silky shine and a rich colour.

The handles of the non-riveted knives are made of polypropylene. This plastic is soft and comfortable to hold, yet resistant to heat, food acids, alcohol and salts. It does not break or tear and does not absorb water. Polypropylene therefore has properties that no other plastic offers and dishwasher cleaning is therefore also unproblematic.
