Heavy and perfectly balanced, it stays in place so you don't need to hold it tightly while grinding. The interior of the mortar, as well as the end of the pestle, is slightly textured to grip food and easily crush it against the sides. The ergonomic pestle is made of ceramic and features a beautiful birch wood handle, encouraging confident force to grind, crush, and crumble. Designed with aesthetics in mind, it boasts a stunning matte black finish and semi-rounded edges. As a Category II (Cat II) item, it may feature minor aesthetic blemishes from the manufacturing process, which do not affect the high-quality performance or durability of the ceramic. The mortar measures 16 cm in width, 10 cm in height, and has a 1 L capacity.

• Temperature range: The ceramic mortar is highly resistant to temperatures from -20°C up to +270°C and is safe for the oven, microwave, and freezer.

• Prohibited usage: Never use the ceramic on direct heat sources (gas, electric, ceramic, or induction stovetops) or open flames.

• Preventing thermal shock: Avoid extreme and sudden temperature changes. Do not run cold water over a hot dish or place a hot ceramic piece on a cold surface, as the sudden thermal shock can cause it to crack.

• Cleaning: The ceramic mortar is fully dishwasher safe. However, we strongly recommend hand washing the pestle to protect and preserve the birch wood handle.
