Katana Saya is the universal knife brand of our times, encompassing the very best of different cultures and traditions. The Katana was the prized sword of the Samurai with its extra sharp blade fashioned from folded Damascus Steel. The blades of knives are similarly crafted from Japanese VG-10 Damascus Steel. The Katana was always protected inside a Sheath or Saya. We present the traditional Japnese style knives with traditional Wooden Saya, to match the knife handles.

Santoku is Japanese for ‘3 Ways’ and this refers to the all-round suitability of these knives to slice, dice and prepare food as required. The Katana Saya Olivewood Santoku Knife 12cm is a great all-round knife with a fluted blade to relieve sticking. This version is the smaller Santoku with a 18 cm blade.

The Western Olivewood range comes gift boxed with a wooden sheath that offers great protection for your knife, protecting yourself and others from its supremely sharp edge. The blade has a 67 layers of VG-10 Damascus steel, the highest quality steel with a high carbon content that gives it exceptional toughness.

The exceptional craftmanship in these knives can be seen in the elegant layered damascus pattern on the blade. These stunning Japanese kitchen knives feature a beautiful light olivewood handle with opal ring around the end which strikes a balance between opulence and hard wearing-durability.
