Stylish and practical cutting board made of FSC-certified oak. The cutting board has a recessed slot for drainage - perfect for avoiding slop on the counter. Oak is an excellent type of wood for making cutting boards, as it has a perfect degree of hardness. It's soft enough not to dull the blades and hard enough to keep the board from getting deep jacks when cutting. Other advantages of oak in particular are that the material has hygienic properties and is water resistant, which means that it is well suited in a kitchen environment.
By taking care of your wooden cutting board, it can become a lifelong companion in the kitchen. Suitable types of wood for cutting boards are generally those that are hard, have dense fibers and small pores. Global's wooden cutting board is made of Bosnian silver oak, which is a very fiber-dense type of wood.
